I knew the moment I spotted this dress that she was special. The fabric alone: black organza blooming with cobalt, royal purple, and magenta, flowers woven right into the cloth so they catch the light as she moves.
Then I looked inside. Alas, no labels.
So we did the research, and we found her designer, and we found her sisters. She is Lela Rose, Fall 2016, cut from the same Lapis Multi fil coupé as the V-neck dress Bergdorf Goodman sold for $2,290. Her own cut, high neck, sheer illusion waist front and back, appears nowhere online. She may be a rare variant or a sample. What she is not is ordinary.
A timeless silhouette: high neck, nipped sheer waist, full midi skirt. A slip underneath, and drama everywhere else.
